Think about this scenario: plastic is mixed with numerous dangerous chemicals to produce a plastic mat. One of these chemicals is dioxin which is known to cause cancer. Next imagine, inhaling those toxic fumes when you’re in child’s pose.
I’m pretty sure that just about all of you who are reading this spend a significant part of each day on your computer, iPad or smart phone. It’s easy to stay connected, to get directions, to look something up. So, while change is always accompanied by feelings of discomfort and fear, there are so many opportunities that have, and will continue, to open up for us, that we should not forget to count our blessings.

I recently went into one of the local supermarkets, Super U, here in the south of France and at the check-out was offered one of those store magazines which offer a few cents off products you don’t want to buy . The magazine was made of cheap paper – and sealed in clear plastic packaging . There was a huge pile of them at every checkout. Around France there must have been millions – each wrapped in plastic. I went and pointed out to the girl on the Customer Service desk that the plastic cover was unnecessary and just junk . (It was also needlessly expensive for the store .) She agreed , and agreed to raise it with the store manager .
So when my brothers and I were ready, Dad made slingshots for us, and we then learned to make them for ourselves. We spent countless hours in practice and before too long we were able to reduce the pest population of sparrows and starlings in our area. In time we graduated to the turtle (mourning) doves which were legal in September and abundant in Oklahoma. Then there was the bigger challenges yet of feral barn pigeons, rabbits and squirrels.
